This concert was a fundraiser for voter registration sponsored by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored Peope (NAACP), the Committe on Racial Equality (CORE), and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). Apparently Davis did not tell the other members of the group beforehand that they would not be paid their usual wages for this performance.

Columbia C7K-90840 includes both concerts in their entirety and in performance order. Columbia's two-CD Complete Concert (C2K 48821) simply reproduces the two original LPs/CDs with the titles in their original order, which is quite different than the order in which they were performed.
