Complete tapes of all four shows are in wide circulation. The date is wrongly given as April 11, 1970 on Super Sonic. The tape from which the CD was mastered is about 5% fast. In addition, the indexes are all wrong: 1. Directions (4:30); 2. Miles Runs the Voodoo Down - Untitled Tune (9:24); 3. It's About That Time (7:36); 4. I Fall in Love Too Easily (9:15); 5. Sanctuary (7:41); 6. Spanish Key (9:46). In addition to the Fillmore West shows, the Sextet played the fourth annual University of California Jazz Festival at the Berkeley Greek Theater (April 24), and the Both/And Club, San Francisco (April 28). After this Davis returned to New York for another period of intense studio activity -- five dates in the period from May 17-June 4. |
